First event in the series “Importance of Freedoms for Ukraine’s Prosperity”

Today, on February 29, the first of a series of events “The Importance of Freedoms for Ukraine's Prosperity” was held with the support of Atlas Network, a US-based non-governmental organization that provides training, networking, and grants to libertarian, market, and conservative groups around the world.

Event details

Yaroslav Romanchuk, chief economist of the Free Nation public movement, spoke about the correlation between increasing the level of freedoms in a country and its prosperity, showed the disappointing macroeconomic indicators of Ukraine and emphasized the overload of the state apparatus, which is leading Ukraine to the debt abyss and default. The main message was to introduce economic freedoms today, while Ukraine has its unique chance in the form of the world’s great interest in Ukraine and unprecedented desire to help it.

We would like to thank the co-organizer of the event, Kyiv Business Lyceum, for providing a platform for spreading liberal ideas among active members of civil society — our Ukrainian youth. These people have already made what is probably the most important choice in their lives to develop their entrepreneurial skills. Who else but them should know about the need to reduce the regulatory burden, introduce English law institutions, private arbitration, implementation of the principle “no crime without a victim” and privatization of educational institutions.

It was symbolic that the first event was held in an educational institution, as young people are our future and the main driving force behind economic and political changes in Ukraine.
