We continue our dialog on the importance of freedom for Ukraine’s prosperity: Third event in Zhytomyr

The third event in the series “The Importance of Freedoms for Ukraine's Prosperity” took place in Zhytomyr on April 18 and received considerable attention and support. This initiative, sponsored by the Atlas Network, once again brought together participants for an in-depth discussion of key aspects of the country's economic, political and legal life.

Event details

The central leitmotif of the event was the concept of freedom, which, according to the participants, is an integral element of Ukraine’s successful development. Yaroslav Romanchuk, a renowned world-class economist, delivered a presentation in which he clearly outlined the fundamental role that economic, political, and legal freedoms play in the prosperity of any nation. He emphasized that it is freedom that enables entrepreneurs and innovators to realize their potential, stimulates economic growth, and creates new jobs.

In addition to economic aspects, the event also actively discussed issues of political and legal freedom. The participants of the discussion concluded that a free and open society, where the rule of law and respect for human rights prevail, is the key to sustainable development and well-being of citizens.

The event in Zhytomyr was yet another indication of the growing importance of discussions about freedom in Ukraine. The deep and meaningful conversations that took place during the event contributed to a better understanding of the relationship between freedom and the country’s prosperity. The initiative “Freedoms are essential for Ukraine’s prosperity” will continue its work by organizing similar events in other cities of Ukraine to stimulate constructive dialogue and contribute to the formation of a free, democratic, and prosperous society.

Here are some of the key points that were raised during the event:

  • Economic freedom: Free markets, low taxes, and minimal government intervention are key factors in stimulating economic growth and job creation.
  • Political freedom: Citizens should have the right to elect their leaders, freely express their opinions, and participate in the political life of the country.
  • Legal freedom: The rule of law, an independent judiciary, and respect for human rights are the foundation for a just and fair society.
  • The relationship between freedom and prosperity: Studies show that countries with freer societies tend to have better economic performance, higher living standards, and happier citizens.
