Today, June 28, Ukraine celebrates Constitution Day. This is one of the most important holidays for our country, symbolizing sovereignty, democracy, and the rule of law.
Constitution Day in Ukraine is celebrated to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine in 1996. This document defines the basic principles of state organization, the rights, and freedoms of citizens, the distribution of power between state bodies and other key provisions that underlie our sociopolitical system.
As we celebrate Constitution Day, we are also mindful of the need to protect and strengthen our democracy and the rule of law. Every citizen should be aware of their rights and responsibilities, and actively engage in political and civic life to build a strong, prosperous Ukraine together.
May Constitution Day remind us of the importance of law, justice, and responsibility to our country. We hope this will be the last year with a communist constitution in Ukraine.
Happy Constitution Day, Ukraine!
