Today, Amir Jahangir joined the team of foreign representatives of the Free Nation public movement as the first representative in Pakistan. Amir is a prominent figure in the field of strategic communications and media, known for his impressive career and achievements in media, technology and social activism. His work on media development and governance initiatives has earned him the title of “Young Global Leader” from the World Economic Forum.
Jahangir leads Mishal Pakistan, a partner institute of the World Economic Forum’s New Economy and Society Platform, which works to improve Pakistan’s competitiveness. He also advises leading institutions on public policy development.
Prior to becoming a social activist, Amir Jahangir gained extensive experience in the media. He worked as the CEO of SAMAA TV and was the founder and CEO of CNBC Pakistan. At the age of 31, Jahangir became the youngest CEO of a CNBC franchise in the world.
Outside these positions, Amir Jahangir also co-founded Media Development and AGAHI, which brings together journalism associations and academia on a common platform for community development across Pakistan. He has developed and implemented a number of innovative projects aimed at improving media and journalism.
